This year, INA members from around the world gathered at the Hyatt at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco, California from May 20-23, 2010 to celebrate our 25 Years of Excellence during our Annual Conference.
With nearly a quarter of our membership present, attendees gathered to improve their skills, increase their marketability and network with industry professionals from across the globe. While attendees worked hard, attending intensive sessions presented by top-notch speakers, they also played hard touring San Francisco by cable car, visiting Alcatraz and dining at the many restaurants Fisherman’s Wharf has to offer.
A highlight of this year’s conference was the presentations of the new INA Harriette Grant Service Award Pins and the INA Service Award Pins. The Service Award Pins were presented to 35 attendees in recognition for their hard work, dedication and commitment to professional excellence.
As we wrap-up our 2010 INA Annual Conference, we thank everyone who made it a success and we congratulate our 2010 INA Nanny of the Year™, Greta Schrarer of Batavia, OH, for a job well done. Greta’s acceptance speech brought tears to many eyes as she shared what it meant for her to be honored as INA’s Nanny of the Year™ and as she challenged all attendees to be the best that they can be.
As we look back on what INA has accomplished in the past 25 years, and look forward to what we can accomplish in the next, INA will continue to make a difference as we improve the standards of the in-home child care industry.

I recently attended the INA conference in San Francisco and found the event to be very productive. I went there with hopes of meeting dynamic people, sharing valuable business information and coming home with tips for how to work smarter in this evolving industry. I left there as I’d hoped. I was able to network with industry providers, fellow agency owners and nannies, helping me to have a better perspective and a deeper understanding of the different ways to approach nanny placement. I have always come home from conferences with “golden nuggets” of information which I have immediately applied to my own business practices. This year was no exception. The Nanny Network
Each year in the spring the INA conference is a rebirth of my professional goals, my professional commitment and my professional pride. It rejuvenates; re energizes, and reboots me.
Meeting new people, making new friends, developing professional connections and growing as professionals is what the INA Conference is all about. It is my investment in my career and I am rewarded over and over through the new friends I meet, the professional connections I develop and the growth I experience by spending a weekend with the best of the best the cream of the crop of the Nanny Industry. This year’s conference was one of the best conferences I have ever attended in my 25 years in the Nanny profession.

2010 INA conference was a great experience with great people, tons of information, and a lot of fun. We want to thank everyone who organized the event. My colleague and I just discovered INA about a month ago and didn’t know what to expect as first-time attendees. We were not disappointed. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and informative. We left with the feeling that INA really cares about our success. Everyone made us feel that we were part of the team. We are looking forward to becoming more involved with INA and we plan on attending the 2011 conference.

I couldn’t have imagined a better conference. When I learned about INA last year I was interested, but didn’t really know what to expect. As I became a member and was told about conference I grew very excited. I wanted to learn as much as possible to take back to my family. I not only learned many things that I will be able to implement with my charges, but I made friendships that can never be broken. I never thought about the fact that I had co-workers out there, but now I have bonds that I will carry with me forever. I can’t wait to do it again.
