What Membership Level Should I Be?

As the umbrella organization for the in-home child care industry, it is our goal is to make membership in the INA accessible and beneficial for everyone in the industry. Often we find that potential new members are confused about which membership level is best for them. Here are some helpful tips to know what the specific benefits of each level are so you can make an informed decision about what level you should join.

Individual Membership

This includes both Associate and Full Members. This membership level is reserved for individuals who are currently working in a child’s home. It can be part-time or full-time, temporarily or a more permanent placement. Daycare workers, agency owners, au pair programs, online placement services, training companies, nanny employers, agency employees, payroll services, background check companies, and business coaches are not eligible for this membership unless they also work part-time caring for a child in his or her home. Individual Members are able to use either the INA Associate Member Logo or the INA Full Member Logo on a personal website page with the individual’s bio, but the logo may NOT be used on a company website. What this means: If you are a nanny who also has a business placing or training caregivers, you MUST have a business membership in order to use the INA Member Logo on your business website. Individual Members have access to a member portal and all the association documents found there as well as a voting right on INA Board of Directors Members and changes to the Bylaws. Full Individual Members can run for the INA Board of Directors.

Independent Supporting Membership

This includes both Associate and Full Members. This membership level was created so that agency or business employees, as well as nanny employers, could be a part of the INA. Independent Supporting Members are able to use either the INA Associate Member Logo or the INA Full Member Logo on a website page with the individual’s bio, but the logo may NOT be used on a company’s website. Independent Supporting Members have access to a member portal and all the association documents found there. However, they do NOT have a voting right nor can they be on the INA Board of Directors.

This includes both Associate and Full Members. This membership level is for business owners of placement agencies, training programs, or individuals who run a nanny support group. Au pair programs, online placement services, nanny employers, agency employees, payroll services, background check companies, and business coaches are not eligible for this membership. Standard Members are able to use either the INA Associate Member Logo or the INA Full Member Logo on ONE company’s website as well as on business cards and other promotional material. They can also have up to two URL’s listed on their INA Member Directory listing.
