The INA Board of Directors Nominations Committee is pleased to present the nominees for the 2015-2017 Board of Directors.   Please review each nominee, and be prepared to vote when the ballots are emailed Monday, January 19, 2015.

New Nominee:

Caroline Malkin has lived in Tucson for almost 20 years. A graduate of Ironwood Ridge High School and a University of Arizona Alum, Caroline has deep roots in the Tucson community. Caroline officially entered into the childcare industry in 2005 and gained extensive experience working with families and children of all ages as a professional nanny. In 2010, Caroline became a Certified Postpartum Doula and has helped many families during the postpartum period by providing breast feeding support and resources, education on infant care and promoting a positive transition for the family and their newborn.

Caroline is also trained to work with mothers experiencing perinatal mood disorders and is a member of the Tucson Postpartum Depression Coalition and Mother Baby Wellness Coalition. She shares her knowledge and expertise as an instructor and group facilitator and has taught numerous classes throughout the Tucson community. .As the Flex Division Director, Caroline manages Trusting Connection’s skilled team of nannies.

Her top priority is to provide Trusting Connection’s clients with exceptional nannies who are trained, knowledgeable and nurturing. She is actively involved with the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and is also on the Pima Community College Foundation Board.

Gibson, CortneyCortney Gibson, Gibson Newborn Services
Dallas, Texas

Cortney Gibson is a newborn care specialist, sleep consultant and educator for parents and caregivers. She holds a certificate in newborn care from Alexandria School and has studied greenproofing, maternity and child sleep, integrative nutrition, and infant mental health through various institutions.

Cortney owns and operates Gibson Newborn Services; a company dedicated to helping the parents of new babies succeed through education, newborn care and support. GNS offers families the highest level of newborn care, sleep consultations, non-toxic nursery planning, integrative nutrition and wellness, as well as an exclusive newborn care referral services, available nationwide.

Cortney has been working with families and providing in-home care since 1997. She specializes in the care of preemies and multiples, as well as sleep coaching and parenting classes. Cortney has spent over 60,000 hours nurturing babies and caring for young children all over the country.

A longtime supporter of the INA, Cortney has served on the board of directors since 2007 and now serves as President of the organization. Cortney chairs the NCS committee, works with the mentor program, and helps to plan the newborn care track for the annual conference.

Since 1996, Marcia Hall has been working with children and families as a Certified Professional Nanny and an ACPI Certified Coach for Families. In 2011 she was named the International Nanny Association’s NANNY OF THE YEAR. Marcia is a graduate of the English Nanny and Governess School and is an INA Credentialed Nanny. She is an advocate for children in every area of her life having served as a children’s ministry director and a “Big” with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program. Marcia and her husband Scott are also foster parents in Milwaukee Wisconsin.

Though Marcia’s full time job currently is mommy to her three amazing children, she will forever be a nanny at heart. This past year she launched Nanny Coaching Team – a professional nanny education team specializing in webinars and workshops. Her desire is for nannies to better understand their unique place within the family. Marcia sees the Nanny Coaching Team as a place where all nannies can impart the wisdom they have gained to others within the industry.

Marcia has served on the INA Board of Directors for almost 4 years and as the Secretary for the Executive Board for the last year. She is excited to see where the next 30 years will lead INA and the industry.

Scottsdale, Arizona

Sheri celebrated 31 years as a professional, career nanny in 2013.  She has a love for her chosen career path and feels blessed to have touched so many lives through the years.  She feels it is rewarding and amazing to watch little babies grow into productive adults and know in some way she had a hand it this.  Sheri began her nanny career in 1982 right out of high school.  Not ready to go straight into college, but knowing she wanted to center her life on caring and teaching children.  Sheri has cared for over 45 families in many roles – part-time, full-time, occasional, date-nights and travel.  She has cared for children of all ages, but currently specializes in the younger years, and has worked for professionals, sports figures and celebrities.  In January 2015 Sheri began another phase of her professional in home child care career by opening Bella Grace Agency. She continues her education in early childhood development, safety training, CNA/EMT and has become very active in her community in a volunteer capacity with organizations that help children such as ChildHelp, Special Olympics, Child Crisis Center, just to name a few.
