This week the INA is introducing you to our five outstanding nominees for INA Nanny of the Year. Join us Monday, May 1, 2017 when we’ll announce our
2017 INA Nanny of the Year recipient, who will receive her honor at the upcoming INA Conference, on Saturday, May 20, 2017.
Our third nominee is Laura Schroeder of Charleston, South Carolina. Laura has been a nanny for six years. Though she has spent most of her career working with children, she did not become a nanny until later in life but she believes that through nannying, she has found her true calling and passion. She spends her evenings happily reading childcare books or preparing lesson plans. Being a nanny is part of her heart and soul and something that she plans to do as long as she is able. Laura is most proud of the confidence she is able to instill in the children she cares for. As a Positive Discipline Parent Educator and former social worker, it is important to her to have children who understand their own feelings and are empathetic to the feelings of others. She currently is a nanny and house manager for three children.
Laura was nominated by Jessica Brown who said “Laura is the most sensitive soul I have ever met. She melts when children hug her and the love is palpable when you witness it. She has helped us become better parents. She guided us through positive discipline by demonstrating this method consistently with our children.“
