The INA Board and Staff have been working hard over the last year and today we are sharing one of those projects with you.
Are you a Newborn Care Specialist or looking to become one? For years the INA has provided two tests to determine knowledge for nannies and now we have replicated that for Newborn Care Specialists (NCS).
The NCS Basic Skills Assessment will be a 40 question, multiple choice, online quiz. Assessment takers will have 30 minutes to complete all the questions. NCS agencies can use this as part of their evaluation of potential childcare candidates. This assessment will address an NCS’s knowledge of newborn health, safety, nutrition, professionalism, and development.
Caregivers who want to demonstrate their extensive knowledge in newborn care can choose to take the NCS Credential Exam. It was developed to evaluate the NCS’s practical knowledge of newborn care so that parents who employ them can have the peace of mind that their NCS knows safe and healthy ways to care for newborns.
The Exam will be 100 randomized multiple choice questions. The exam will address an NCS’s knowledge in newborn development, personal qualities of an NCS, safety, nutrition, professionalism.
Test takers that pass the NCS Credential Exam will be considered INA Credentialed Newborn Care Specialist and will have the right to use the NCS Credential Logo. This small graphic can make a huge impact on a resume, business card or website. Those who pass will also be listed on the INA website.
Both the NCS Basic Skills Assessment and the NCS Credential Exam will be available to take at the INA 2019 Conference for the first time. Those attending can sign up to take this on Thursday afternoon or Sunday morning of the conference through their Conference Registration.
Just like the Nanny Basic Skills Assessment and the Nanny Credential Exam, INA members will be able to take advantage of these tests at a 20% discount.
