INA Nanny of the Year Nominee: Jessica O’Connor

Jessica O’Connor has been working with children for eight years and began dipping her toes in the nanny world about five and a half years ago. Jessica has gained valuable experience as an evening nanny, full-time nanny, live-in nanny and special needs nanny-working with newborns through to school age children.

Working with children has always been a passion of hers ever since was young. Child development fascinates her and she finds being a part of that process is so rewarding. Becoming a nanny has truly brought that passion to a new level as she not only gets to be a part of a child’s development but an entire family’s development. Jessica believes in working as a team to help children become the best they can be. When she is not working hands-on with a family, Jessica spends time in childcare training so she can further her education. Her goal is to pass what she knows on to those with who she works.

Children have also brought out her love of photography capturing those moments of childhood you never want to forget, messy faces, puddle jumping, and sweet giggles. Every day spent with a child is filled with experiences and learning opportunities which she is thankful to be a part of.

One of Jessica’s Nominators had this to say about her:

“Jessica is an extraordinary nanny. She has been a reliable, fun, loving and hard working full-time nanny for our two girls for the past two and a half years. She has a fantastic understanding of the needs and abilities of children. She is warm, nurturing and responsive to our children. Our older daughter has special needs, and Jessica is always finding creative ways for her to be included and achieve her developmental milestones. Jessica has always brought a professional, thoughtful, organized, and expert approach to the care of our children.”
