Service Award Pin: Round 2 Applications NOW OPEN

It’s time for round two of our Service Award Pin Applications. This is an exciting time for our Service Award Pin Program as it is the first chance for INA Members to apply for the Pin who normally cannot make it to our Annual Conference. Those of you that apply in this round would normally receive your award at another industry event in the fall, however since many of these events have already been canceled or may be canceled due to COVID-19, this year we will be producing a video to introduce recipients similar to what we did for our INA Conference Service Award Pin Recipients in May 2020.

To apply for the INA 2020 Summer Service Award Pin, you must do the following by July 15, 2020:

  • Be a current INA member.
  • Work legally in the country of employment within the in-home childcare industry for a minimum 1200 hours per year and be able to tell us the hours you’ve worked.
  • Complete the digital form which includes general information, 3 references (including at least one INA Member), a complete work/professional history, a bio of yourself in the 3rd person of around 200 words, and an attestation that information given is correct.
  • Pay the 2020 Service Pin Award Processing fee that can be found in the INA Estore of $35.
  • Email a professional headshot of yourself with no selfies or other people in the photo PLUS one additional photo. (see details below)

 

Please note that we have streamlined the application process so that all applicants will be able to include their work history and bio within the digital form instead of needing to send in separate documents. We have also created a work history and bio example so that everyone can see the information we need. As you apply please keep in mind that your work history will be taken from your first paid position in the industry as an adult (18 years-old) through the end of our application deadline (July 15, 2020.)

Since we will be introducing all the recipients this round within our social media community (and email audience), in addition to a headshot that has just you in it, we will also be asking you to send in an additional image to display in the introduction video. We are allowing this second picture to include other people. If this second image has children in it, we will need to have the parent or legal guardian of that child fill out a Photo Release form. All parts of the application are due on July 15, 2020. If selected you will be notified by September 1, 2020. Pins will be mailed to you postmarked by October 1, 2020.
