2018 Recap:

May 17-20, 2018 the International Nanny Association had its 33rd annual conference in sunny Tucson Arizona at the beautiful JW MARRIOTT STARR PASS RESORT & SPA.  We were welcomed right away by the warm weather, beautiful scenery, tranquil nights, and rafting lazy river. Nannies, mannies, newborn care specialist, educators, agencies and business owners alike thoroughly enjoyed their time whether it was poolside or in a conference room.

The Keynote Speaker, Dr. Lynne Kenney had the entire room up on their feet at 9:15 am engaging in the workshop as an icebreaker. Having us speaking and rhythmically taping to get our bodies and minds going. She empowered us by saying that simple 5-minute daily strategies can improve our cognition, health, and longevity!

The recipient of the 2018 INA Nanny of the Year was Jill Griffin from Walpole, Massachusetts.  Jill has been a professional Nanny for 12 years, however, has been caring for children for over 25 years. Jill also is a Newborn Care Specialist and this is her favorite age group.

Susan Tokayer and Karen Yatsko were given the INA’s Meritorious Service Awards for a job well done serving our association for many years. Susan has served as INA President and for many years was the face of the association while Karen has served behind the scenes in many capacities. The Board gave these ladies the award this year to showcase the fact that the organization needs both personalities to elevate the industry.

The Harriette Grant Service Pin Awards were given to seventeen individuals celebrating 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and even 35 years of work in the in-home childcare industry! All INA member can apply to receive their pin next year in New Orleans!

“INA was nothing like I imagined. The warmth and energy I felt from the group were awesome. I LOVED my workshops and wished they were longer. The event organizer did an outstanding job at organizing everything. I was impressed with all the vendors and the high-quality agencies. It was a great time. What an amazing way to put actual faces to names from all the nanny and NCS FB groups. There is just something about in-person meetups.” Erin Carroll-Manning first time attendee

This was my 3rd conference and my first at being on the Board of Directors.
I travel each year from the UK to the INA conference to elevate my knowledge, to connect with like-minded people as our industry can be very lonely at times. Each year the conference finds an amazing hotel and city. Lots of networking and discussions were held poolside these were not official but we certainly put the world to rights.
Helen McCarthy INA Board of Directors and UK Nanny LTD Founder

I’ve had the pleasure of attending the INA conference for several years. This year’s accommodations, such as the hotel, were especially lovely. The INA conference creates a fun, positive atmosphere where I am able to openly network with other like-minded professionals and discover effective new tools to implement in my own placement agency. I find the entire experience to be enjoyably constructive and uniquely motivating! Attending the INA conference is an absolute must-do for professionals in this industry. Rachel Urtiaga, Capitol Park Nannies

Don’t miss INA’s 34th Annual Conference March 21-24, 2019 in New Orleans, LA. The Member-only Pre-sale ends Saturday, June 30, 2018.
