The INA was so proud to unveil our brand new Newborn Care Specialist Credential Exam (NCSCE) at the 34th Annual INA Conference March 21-24, 2019 in New Orleans, LA. More than 5 years in the making, we have so many people to thank for bringing this challenging, evidence-based, and internationally relevant exam to fruition. Thanks go to those involved from the earliest conception like Brittany Hunt & Haleigh Almquist, those who pushed through the tough times like Tonya Sakowicz & Cortney Gibson, and those who helped bring it to the finish line like Danielle Bujnak. Thanks also go to all the Newborn Care Specialists who volunteered through early versions of the test and helped make it the strong test that it is.

According to the handful of those who have taken it, the NCSCE test is not easy, and it is wise for potential test takers to thoroughly review the materials in the study guide. Questions were drawn from resources all over the world, so relying on your own experience and training may not be enough to pass the exam. Don’t let this dissuade you though, be one of the first to have the INA NCSCE logo on your resume, portfolio, and business cards!

We look forward to speaking with you all tonight at the Town Hall on Facebook but wanted to share the experience of one of the first individuals to pass the NCSCE – Cate Matijevich

“Taking the INA NCS Credential Exam was a proud goal of mine. I had taken several NCS courses and hoped to add INA Credentialed NSC to my accolades.

The exam preparation was very detailed. It is not as overwhelming if you allow yourself the proper time to study. The information the INA provides in the study guide is essential to passing the exam. While most NCS’s have the knowledge, a refresher is always necessary. After all, we are never done learning, right?

It was a proud moment to receive the email that I had passed the challenging exam at INA34 Conference in New Orleans. Sharing with my clients upon return from the conference added to that glorious feeling.

Take away’s: Prepare yourself through studying, read thoroughly, know that it is challenging, breathe when you’re done.”

As a member of INA, you can be proud of your fellow members for their hard work to study for, take and pass these exams, and now, thanks to the advances of the digital age, we have made it even easier for you to join them!
