INA Nanny of the Year Nominee: Jill Griffin

Jill Griffin has been caring for children for over twenty-five years. In high school, Jill excelled in her early childhood classes, and her compassion for children just flourished from there. Upon graduation, she enrolled at Middlesex Community College to obtain an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education with a focus on diversity. Jill worked in many areas of daycare from teacher assistant to the director of the center. She worked with both low-income and high-income communities. She even saw a school open and close its doors. However, Jill realized she was missing something in her time in the daycare world. Jill missed the whole child and family. She wanted to provide the individualized love and care children need. Jill decided to make a big leap and left corporate America to become a nanny. Eventually she became a Newborn Care Specialist, and Postpartum Doula.

In December 2016 Jill launched Jill’s Newborn Care Services and said: “I always knew I loved babies, being a Newborn Care Specialist is my true calling.” Jill has recently completed the Elite NCS Student Program through Newborn Care Solutions and has also completed her Postpartum Doula certification.

One of Jill’s nominators had this to say about her:

“Unfortunately, describing why Jill should be the Nanny of the Year is not possible in 700 words. 7,000 would be more appropriate to describe how incredibly awesome she is. Jill has worked with our family as an NCS as well as a nanny and is, by far, one of the singularly most competent, compassionate, kind, knowledgeable, creative, culturally competent, and professional individuals with whom I have ever worked.”
