INA Nanny of the Year Nominee: Katherine Dallmeyer

Katherine Dallmeyer (Katie) has been a full-time nanny in Chicago for seven years. After starting her Early Childhood Education courses at DePaul University, Katie transferred to the English Nanny and Governess School. She graduated as a Certified Professional Nanny and Newborn Care Specialist. From there, Katherine became a Child Passenger Safety Technician, Volunteer Baby-wearing Educator, Baby-wearing Consultant, Postpartum Doula, NANNYGUARD, and INA Credentialed Nanny. Katie is an active member of the nanny community and volunteers as an administrator for The Chicago Nanny Group and Baby-wearing Nannies.

In addition to working a full-time job, Katie does parent and caregiver education through her website, 360babysolutions.com. She has been a speaker at Nannypalooza and National Nanny Training Day. Travel has always been a passion for Katie. In the first year with her current family, Katie flew over fifty times, both national and international.

Katie has dedicated her life to working with children. Her passion has inspired her to continually educate herself and stay up to date on the latest in child care, development, and safety.

One of Katherine’s nominators had this to say about her:

“In asking myself why nominate Katie Dallmeyer, my mind went in 20 different directions at once. Katie is the nanny at 26 I wish I had been at 18 or even now at 41. Katie has pushed me to be a better nanny, by changing how I respond to my charges, helping me communicate with them and their families in a constructive and non-accusatory way, making me want to educate myself and push myself to learn things outside my comfort zone to become a better nanny and person.”
